We invite you to join team TravisMathew. The Materials Assistant, is responsible for facilitating all fabric and trim development. This individual will partner with the cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of fabric construction
  • Knowledge of garment fit and pattern alterations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to measure garments
  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year experience in accessories and apparel product development

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
  • Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
  • Perform all development fabric and garment testing and corresponding data tracking
  • Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and processes statuses
  • Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
  • Maintain fabric & trim data entry in Centric PLM
  • Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
  • Maintain lap dips and strike offs files
  • Wash & Measure samples as needed
  • Track samples with vendors
  • Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team
  • Assist with data entry projects, as needed
