About The Position

At Hitachi Energy, you will play a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting the efficiency of our manufacturing operations. As an Inventory Specialist, you will help maintain accurate inventory records, optimize material availability, and contribute to the operational and financial performance of the facility. You will serve as a subject matter resource for inventory processes and SAP inventory management practices while supporting cycle counting activities, inventory analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse teams, you will help ensure reliable inventory data that supports business performance and customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • College diploma or university degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in inventory management, material planning, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP expert particularly Inventory Management & procurement processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis, problem solving, and process improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within a cross-functional manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the site cycle count program in accordance with company standards.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure the integrity of SAP transactions related to material movements.
  • Analyze inventory levels and recommend actions to optimize working capital, service levels, and inventory accuracy.
  • Review and optimize inventory management parameters within SAP, including safety stock, reorder points, and lot sizes.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate action plans.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and key performance indicators related to inventory management and accuracy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and inventory process optimization initiatives.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
