The Materials Analyst ensures on-time delivery of customer orders and the acquisition of materials while optimizing freight and inventory. The role implements production scheduling, logistics, and inventory-control processes to keep materials available for uninterrupted production in line with delivery schedules while maintaining minimum inventories. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and assists with warehouse layout and execution, including daily checks that materials are stored in the proper locations. It also helps manage economical inbound and outbound transportation routes by identifying opportunities to combine shipments, use milk runs, and consolidate and distribute through warehouses. The employee must meet function-related quality, environmental health and safety, product safety, compliance, and information-security requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures. The role requires professional and cooperative interaction with customers, suppliers, vendors, and employees at all levels; multitasking; regular, predictable attendance; and the ability to work additional hours or overtime as needed. Travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants, is required. Work may take place in office environments and manufacturing plants, where employees must follow site rules and may work near others and experience distracting or noisy conditions.
