About The Position

Flex is seeking a Materials Analyst to support efficient manufacturing operations and ensure material availability. This role will analyze material requirements, inventory trends, demand forecasts, and supply chain performance. The Materials Analyst will collaborate with Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to monitor inventory health, identify material shortages and excesses, evaluate supply and demand fluctuations, and support production schedules. This position is located in Milpitas, California, and reports to the Material Manager. The role will support SpinCo, a new independent company focused on critical digital infrastructure, power, and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and mission-critical applications, planned for spin-off in Q1 2027.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory analysis, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, demand planning, forecasting, and data analysis in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements and support planning activities to ensure alignment with production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability to identify shortages, excess inventory, and potential supply risks.
  • Track and report key inventory metrics, helping drive improvements in inventory accuracy and reductions in excess and obsolete materials.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Planning, Operations, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.
  • Evaluate material movement and inventory transactions to maintain data integrity and support efficient production operations.
  • Support inventory cycle count programs, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to improve inventory control.
  • Generate and maintain reports on material performance, inventory trends, shortages, and forecasted requirements.
  • Assist in the review of purchase orders, material change notices, and demand fluctuations to ensure adequate supply coverage.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of material planning processes, procedures, and inventory control practices.
  • Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and recommend disposition strategies to minimize financial impact.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material-related issues and support on-time delivery objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain and material management performance.
  • Travel as required.
