About The Position

The Materials Analyst is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of customer orders and the acquisition of materials. This role involves optimizing freight and inventories by implementing production scheduling, logistics, and inventory control processes. The goal is to ensure a continuous flow of materials for production according to delivery schedules while minimizing inventory levels. The position also includes selecting, motivating, training, and developing a competent department and materials handling staff, as well as anticipating and resolving problems with corrective actions. Additional duties involve assisting with warehouse layout and execution, verifying material storage locations, and managing economical transportation routes, including opportunities for shipment consolidation and distribution. The role also requires adherence to Quality System, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements, as well as all company policies and procedures. The employee must be able to work additional hours and/or overtime as needed, multitask, interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels. Predictable and regular attendance is required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience.
  • Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders and acquirement of materials.
  • Optimize freight and inventories.
  • Implement production scheduling, logistics and inventory control processes.
  • Ensure availability of materials for an uninterrupted flow of production in accordance with delivery schedules, while maintaining minimum inventories.
  • Select, motivate, train, and ensure development of a competent department and materials handling staff.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems with short-term and permanent corrective action.
  • Assist with warehouse layout and execution.
  • Perform daily walks verifying material is stored in the proper location.
  • Assist with the management of the most economical inbound / outbound transportation routes, looking for opportunities to combine shipments, milk runs, and warehouse consolidation and distribution.

  • Maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
