About The Position
The Advanced Microscopy team is looking for an experienced Materials Analyst with a background in operating and analyzing materials using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy). This is a hands-on, production-focused role centered on supporting advanced materials and semiconductor analysis for clients across multiple industries. The successful candidate will be a strong technical contributor who thrives in a fast-paced lab environment, enjoys focused tool time, and values producing high-quality, site-specific results within defined client timelines.
Requirements
- BS or MS only: Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
- Excellent operation and theory understanding of Transmission Electron Microscope
- Experience with TEM sample preparation and hard materials characterization
- Solid understanding of one or more areas of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with aberration-correction TEM
- Familiarity with FEI Tecnai TEM/STEM, Oxford/Bruker EDS, Gatan EELS, Digital Micrograph
Responsibilities
- Obtaining bright field, high resolution, diffraction patterns, dark field TEM and HAADF STEM images of prepared samples
- Obtaining STEM/EDX and STEM/EELS spectra, line scans and maps
- Organizing data, prepare and deliver summary reports to customers
- Partnering with customers and team members to optimize experiments and explain results
- Developing TEM analysis protocols for new sample types
