About The Position

The Material Transfer Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods between company manufacturing facilities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow by ensuring materials are delivered on time, properly secured, and protected from damage. The Material Transfer Driver is responsible for loading, securing, tarping, transporting, and unloading materials while complying with all company safety policies and traffic regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb on trailers and secure loads at various heights.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience operating trucks, trailers, or flatbed equipment preferred.
  • Experience securing and tarping loads preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company-owned non-CDL flatbed trucks and trailers.
  • Transport materials, products, and components between manufacturing facilities and storage locations.
  • Properly secure loads using straps, chains, binders, edge protectors, and other load securement devices.
  • Install and remove tarps as necessary to protect materials from weather and damage.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.
  • Verify load accuracy and ensure materials are delivered to the correct location.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment as authorized.
  • Maintain communication with production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams regarding delivery priorities and schedules.
  • Complete delivery logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, equipment issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Support warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production operations during periods when deliveries are not required.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, DOT requirements applicable to non-CDL vehicles, and local traffic laws.
