About The Position

The Edmonton office is seeking a Material Testing Technician. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Materials Team and will have the opportunity to work on various exciting projects alongside senior engineers/technicians in the field. This role is part of a dynamic and passionate team, collaborating on a variety of projects of all sizes and scopes in the environment, renewable energies, hydroelectricity, transportation, materials, buildings and climate change markets. Boldness, innovation and collaboration are an integral part of our daily operations.

Requirements

• Valid drivers license
• Current drivers abstract
• Insurance claims experience letter
• CSA approved laced steel-toed boots
• Must be able to work outside of normal working hours and any overtime assigned.

Nice To Haves

• A Degree or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is an asset
• Construction experience would be considered an asset
• Quick learner with a good attitude

Responsibilities

• Field testing of civil construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
• Learn about construction equipment, sequencing, and drawings
• Compaction testing of soils, aggregates and asphalt
• Concrete testing; casting cylinders and performing slump and air measurements
• Asphalt testing; Marshall analysis, pavement coring, and onsite sampling
• Preparing daily test summary report
• Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.
