About The Position

This role is responsible for loading wire onto machines, feeding wire as instructed, and making in-process adjustments to achieve correct specifications. The technician may be required to run multiple machines set up in cells, including a straightener, header, and pointer. Responsibilities also include gathering supplies, maintaining a clean work area, and collaborating with support departments to ensure product flow through the plant. The role involves processing raw material through an acid bath, rinse bath, and lime coating using an overhead crane and forklift. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for labeling processed material, visually inspecting the wire pickling system, selecting correct draw die sizes, setting up the draw block, and processing wire. Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, scales, gauges, blueprints, and comprehending the Plex control panel is required.

Requirements

  • Must be able to load wire onto machine.
  • Must be able to feed wire into machine as instructed.
  • Must be able to make in process adjustments as machine is running to achieve correct specifications.
  • Must be able to run multiple machines that are set up in cells (Straightener, Header, and pointer).
  • Must be able to gather all supplies (rags/gloves) and be in work area and ready to work at the beginning of shifts.
  • Must be able to work with all other support departments to help get product through the plant.
  • Must be able to keep area clean, including keeping parts/tails cleaned up off the floor, sweep under and around machine, keep set up parts are put on rack at end of order and clean off all tooling when taking out a job and setting one up.
  • All tools are to be cleaned before putting them away.
  • Must adhere to all Company policies including all safety requirements outlined in Team Member handbook.
  • Cages and guards around rollers are always to be in use.
  • Must call in and talk to their Team Leader if absent or late.
  • Communication between both shifts is mandatory.
  • Must meet with the person who is coming in to relieve you.
  • Must be able to process raw rusty material through, acid bath, rinse bath and lime coating using overhead crane and forklift.
  • Must be able to label processed material correctly through Plex.
  • Must be able to differentiate between correct and incorrect processing time through visual inspection of the wire pickling system.
  • Must be able to select the correct draw die size, set up the draw block and process wire through the draw operation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the correct use and show competence in the use of micrometers, calipers, scale, gauges and blueprints.
  • Must be able to comprehend Plex control panel.
