Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing, production control or materials function with specific knowledge of parts and processes.
  • Basic knowledge with SAP.
  • Advanced understanding of large and small press operations, part numbers, names and colors.
  • Must be certified to drive forklifts or pass certification exam during initial trial period.
  • Basic knowledge packing/assembly and maintenance procedures required.
  • Knowledge of part numbering system and ability to read and understand Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, pulls bulk containers, maintains Kanban cards, and transports materials to proper work cells.
  • Replenishes workstations with raw materials, moves assembled and packaged product to proper storage areas, assures product is labeled correctly, assists with cycle counting and performs line changeovers as needed.
  • Pulls large bulk containers of components from Kanban, completes Kanban forms for replenishment and transports materials to proper workstations.
  • Checks to make sure that all workstations have adequate raw materials and replenishes as needed.
  • Notifies proper department when material stock level is below order point.
  • Manually return components to proper department or storage area.
  • Makes sure that all containers and bagged products are marked and labeled with the quantity and information.
  • May relieve operators as needed.
  • Assists with cycle counting and physical inventory preparation.
  • Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
