The Role We are seeking a results-driven Materials Supervisor to lead material operations across shipping, receiving, and production support. This role is responsible for supervising material handlers, ensuring on-time customer shipments, maintaining inventory control, and supporting plant efficiency and cost objectives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive
- Experience in logistics, shipping, and inventory control
- Knowledge of JIT/ISP systems and customer shipping requirements
- Strong computer skills (ERP or Trans4M preferred)
- Ability to lead teams and drive accountability
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities
- Supervise material handlers supporting shipping, receiving, and production operations
- Ensure customer shipment windows and on-time delivery requirements are consistently met
- Coordinate with production and planning teams to meet daily schedules and material needs
- Manage staffing levels and overtime to align with production demands and budget
- Oversee shipping documentation including bills of lading and manual shippers
- Support inventory control, material flow improvements, and cost-saving initiatives
- Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements (e.g., TS/IATF standards)
- Lead employee performance management, training, and development
- Coordinate special projects including layout, packaging, and process improvements
