The Role We are seeking a results-driven Materials Supervisor to lead material operations across shipping, receiving, and production support. This role is responsible for supervising material handlers, ensuring on-time customer shipments, maintaining inventory control, and supporting plant efficiency and cost objectives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive
  • Experience in logistics, shipping, and inventory control
  • Knowledge of JIT/ISP systems and customer shipping requirements
  • Strong computer skills (ERP or Trans4M preferred)
  • Ability to lead teams and drive accountability
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise material handlers supporting shipping, receiving, and production operations
  • Ensure customer shipment windows and on-time delivery requirements are consistently met
  • Coordinate with production and planning teams to meet daily schedules and material needs
  • Manage staffing levels and overtime to align with production demands and budget
  • Oversee shipping documentation including bills of lading and manual shippers
  • Support inventory control, material flow improvements, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements (e.g., TS/IATF standards)
  • Lead employee performance management, training, and development
  • Coordinate special projects including layout, packaging, and process improvements
