The Material Supervisor is responsible for overseeing material flow, inventory accuracy, receiving, storage, kitting, and delivery of aerospace components to support production schedules and regulatory compliance. This role coordinates warehouse and material handling operations while ensuring adherence to aviation quality standards, safety requirements, and lean manufacturing practices.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in materials management, warehouse operations, or supply chain within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials traceability and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and logistics processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments and meet production deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Aviation Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in aviation or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and AS9100 standards.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Forklift certification and hazardous materials shipping knowledge are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily material handling, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of raw materials, hardware, tooling, and aircraft components to production lines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to prevent shortages and delays.
  • Manage material transactions within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Oversee receiving inspections and ensure compliance with aerospace traceability requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA, AS9100, ISO, OSHA, and company quality standards.
  • Lead and train warehouse/material personnel on procedures, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support lean manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, and inventory optimization efforts.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, and material nonconformances.
  • Prepare reports related to inventory performance, material shortages, and operational metrics.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments when required.
