About The Position

Material Services Operator openings on all three shifts at the Flagship Aerospace and Orthopedic Metals Plant. This role offers a rich 12% quarterly bonus (with a track record of meeting/exceeding bonus payouts!) and a starting wage of $26/hr. - $31/hr., based on experience and performance. Shift premiums are also provided: 2nd shift receives an additional $2/hr., and 3rd shift receives an additional $1/hr.

Requirements

  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Aptitude for numerical accuracy and data entry into computer is critical.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer data entry skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with all other departments.
  • Must be able to operate a powered industrial truck.
  • Must be able to read work instructions.
  • Must be able to physically work in an extreme heat stress environment with exposure to molten metal, dust and fumes and ability to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment required for the position.
  • Must be physically capable of performing heavy manual duties, operate a variety of machinery and equipment and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to get on and off forklift or other mobile equipment.
  • Multi-tasking - can perform various other positions in department.
  • Available for overtime without advance notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Foundry or manufacturing experience in a related occupation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and verify incoming materials.
  • Make proper computer transactions and submit documents.
  • Deliver material when necessary.
  • Load and verify outgoing materials.
  • Prepare, clean, and inspect material as per standard procedures and quality manuals.
  • Clear or reject materials and make proper computer transactions.
  • Place material in the proper location and accurately complete all documents.
  • Using materials called for on heat sheets; weigh-up, prepare and furnish both air and vacuum materials to the proper furnace staging area in a timely manner as to prevent furnace delays.
  • Maintain warehouse accuracy by updating material weights and locations with proper computer transactions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment after complete on-the-job training.
  • Maintain good housekeeping – general cleaning, sweeping, emptying trash hoppers.
  • Be a good team player with vacuum, air, and technical personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
