About The Position

Works under the direction of a foreman, assists skilled workers in performing their assigned duties and performs a large variety of duties at the Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA.

Requirements

  • Post offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group Indoctrination
  • OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
  • Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.
  • Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc)
  • Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc., above and below ground level.
  • Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
  • Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials.
  • Coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
  • Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead.
  • Carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.
  • Standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling.
  • Seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
  • Following set procedures and standards.
  • Applying basic mathematical skills.
  • Planning work and selecting proper tools.
  • Comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
  • Picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings and or diagrams.
  • Using standards that can be measured or checked.
  • Judging distances and slopes accurately.
  • Following oral and/or written directions.
  • Reading; writing.
  • Ability to recognize and report safety hazards.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill

Responsibilities

  • Reads and signs off on JSA prior to starting shift.
  • Stores, removes, loads and unloads all types of materials from storage bins, pallets and vehicles that cannot be handled by Material Handling devices.
  • Operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves.
  • Reads customer order, work order, material pull sheets or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Performs tasks other than their normal operation as required by the company or the foreman, owing to the job demand.
