Leidos is seeking a Principal Material Project Manager to join their Global Supply Chain team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on executing material strategy across programs by managing open purchase orders, resolving delays, and driving supplier accountability. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating material-related program risks and opportunities, achieving program material budget objectives, managing program purchase requirements against lead times, and participating in sourcing process improvement projects. The Material Project Manager (MPM) will also resolve Supply Chain issues and material cost problems for the program. The MPM reports to the Material Operations & Strategies Associate Director and is aligned with the Program Manager, representing Material Operations & Strategies on customer programs. This role acts as an extension of corporate shared services for supply chain support and is responsible for researching and recommending cost-effective purchase arrangements. The MPM collaborates closely with the Manufacturing organization to review purchase requisitions for clarity, compliance, and completeness, and to obtain necessary additional information. They will actively manage the procurement process from order placement through product receipt and invoice payment. Some travel may be required. The ideal candidate is energetic, resilient, and creative, capable of supporting corporate reporting requirements and program manufacturing execution obligations. They should also promote a team atmosphere and foster improved communication with agile problem-solving solutions.
