Equipment design
Prototype concepts
First revision designs
Vendor identification and coordination
Operation check out
Process design and control
Proof of concept
Robustness testing
Strategy for control
Implement control methodologies
Product Transition
Create product and process documentation
Train technicians and operators
Design and set up work areas (integrate with current plant layout)
Make first articles in production environment
Limited rate initial production
Production Support
Troubleshooting (equipment, processing, materials, etc.)
Non-conformance (NCR) disposition
Root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) support
Assist with non-standard items as needed
Quality control
First article qualification
Inspection and certification
Institute/install and monitor safety controls
Operate complicated equipment directly when needed
Identify and perform periodic maintenance needs and maintain spare parts inventory
