We are seeking a highly skilled Materials & Process Engineer 3, focused in Chemical Engineering that can manage and support critical chemical processing and laboratory operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the chemical processing tank lines, maintaining process stability, and ensuring high-quality product outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, hands‑on laboratory experience, and the ability to support production through data-driven technical evaluations and investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or chemistry-focused professional with a minimum or 4 years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting production assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis and the resolution of complex material and process anomalies.
  • Experience working independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) including requirements documentation and presentation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced material identification and characterization using SEM EDX.
  • Processing samples on a FTIR spectrometer to identify unknown materials.
  • Determining gas concentrations using Gas Chromatography.
  • Experience with corrosion resistance and testing methods.
  • General microscopy experience.
  • Experience with Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor chemical processing tank lines, ensuring proper operation, chemical concentrations, and process compliance.
  • Collect, analyze, and manage coolant concentration samples to support system health and maintenance planning.
  • Collect, download, and maintain corrosion sensor data to support environmental monitoring and predictive maintenance efforts.
  • Develop, write, and maintain production and laboratory process documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical standards.
  • Perform complex qualitative and quantitative laboratory analyses to support production needs via material identification.
  • Conduct routine chemical concentration titrations and maintain accurate analytical records.
  • Process, collect, and analyze salt spray test coupons to qualify and verify corrosion resistance performance.
  • Provide technical support for production cleanliness evaluations, contamination investigations, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform routine and advanced chemistry lab testing including material identification, gas concentration analysis, GC operation and maintenance, SEM, FTIR, general microscopy, titrations, pH measurements, and other wet chemistry procedures.
