About The Position

This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and be highly alert at all times.

Requirements

  • Excellent hand eye coordination
  • Excellent ability to read schedule/tickets and determine proper material usage
  • Knowledge of all door skins
  • Strong knowledge of different types of defects.
  • Use a tape measure to 1/32"
  • Ability to flip door skins weighing up to max 20 lbs
  • Strong ability to scan door skin surfaces and detect defects in fast paced environment
  • Highly familiar with build constructions
  • Quick thinker
  • Strong math skills
  • Responsive to layup team with a sense of urgency
  • Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
  • Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60-pounds)
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable

  • Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
  • The ability to work accurately, thoroughly and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery required for particular position in a safe and efficient manner, to include training of new and existing operators in the carrying out of their duties.
  • Inspect product for defects and take appropriate action as per work instructions
  • Assemble product as per instructions with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Communicate efficiently with other employees and the leadership team in order to ensure quality product is made timely
  • Read and interpret list counts and complete all departmental paperwork correctly and timely
  • Help create/implement poke yokes for quality issues
  • Read, understand and follow production schedules
  • Set up and adjust equipment
  • Gather materials as needed
  • Operate motorized equipment (ie forklift, Scissor lifts, etc) as needed
  • Communicate effectively for flow of product through the plant
  • Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Use a Tape Measure, Caliper
  • Read ticket/schedule
  • Verify proper skins on line
  • Identify defects on materials used
  • Flip door skins weighing up to max 20 lbs
  • Add spacers as needed
  • Align the top and bottom skins
  • Use foot pedal to raise/lower lift table to appropriate height for proper ergonomics
  • Remove reject skins off the line onto reject skin pile.
