Material Planning and Execution Manager
About The Position
GE Vernova is launching a new state-of-the-art Grid Automation manufacturing facility in the Salt Lake City area and is looking for a Material Planning and Execution Manager to architect its operational foundation. As a core member of the site leadership team, this role will build a department, translate customer demand into executable supply plans, and champion the SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People) framework. Responsibilities include leading the strategic establishment of planning processes, ERP/MRP architecture, inventory strategy, and warehouse operations for the new facility, driving sustainable performance by aligning demand with manufacturing capacity, ensuring flawless material flow, building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and safety, and acting as a critical node in the network by collaborating with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Global Operations. The role also involves championing Lean principles to eliminate waste, optimize inventory turns, and drive digital transformation initiatives across planning systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with expertise in materials management, production planning, supply chain operations, inventory optimization, or warehouse management.
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated success establishing materials, planning, warehouse, and inventory processes within a greenfield or rapidly growing manufacturing operation.
- A record of improving material availability, inventory performance, working capital, planning maturity, and operational execution.
- Advanced experience with ERP/MRP systems—SAP expertise is highly preferred.
- A strong understanding of SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) and the ability to balance complex commercial and operational priorities.
- Deep practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its application in modern supply chains.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, turning ambiguity into clear, actionable plans.
