About The Position

Lucid Motors is seeking a Material Planning Analyst to join the Material Planning organization. This role is based at Lucid’s headquarters facility in Phoenix, AZ, and reports directly to the Material Planning Manager. The Material Planning Analyst is responsible for creating, analyzing, and delivering critical material planning and inventory reports to support multiple departments across the organization. The role ensures raw materials and components are available to meet production requirements by validating inventory data, maintaining accurate material plans, managing MRP systems, and analyzing demand and supply signals. This position plays a key role in identifying material risks, reducing stockouts, tracking key performance indicators, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. The analyst works closely with Material Planning, Transportation, Finance, and other Supply Chain and Logistics teams to maintain operational continuity, improve data accuracy, and support cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and present clear, concise insights to leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Advanced level Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF/AND/OR functions, Power Query, basic VBA/macros and data analysis and modeling.
  • Working knowledge of MRP processes; SAP experience preferred, with a solid understanding of discrete manufacturing, materials management, product lifecycle management, and supply chain operations.
  • Advance written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, persuasively, and confidently.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment; adaptability and flexibility are key.

Responsibilities

  • Run and distribute daily Material Shortage Reports to identify current and future material constraints.
  • Report on current inventory levels to support production readiness and address shortage mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor material exceptions, shortages, and trends, escalating risks as needed to ensure timely response.
  • Support daily supply chain and production meetings by providing accurate and clear material visibility.
  • Assist Senior Analyst with daily escalations related to inventory discrepancies, supply chain issues, and quality concerns to prevent production delays.
  • Manage and validate inbound priority schedules for the next five days of incoming shipments against production requirements.
  • Review material and parts requests from internal teams to ensure inventory availability for operations and customer service needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Logistics, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze inventory health including excess/obsolete, slow-moving, quality-hold, at-risk, and production-critical materials to support supply chain efficiency.
