About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Material Planner. This position will be based at our plant in El Paso, Texas. In this role, you will manage the procurement of all production and non-production items consumed within your area of responsibility to support both short-term and long-term business objectives. You will hold overall responsibility for meeting customer requirements, overseeing production control, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining optimal finished goods inventory levels and reorder points. You will provide Value Stream Mapping (VSM) support for the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to help ensure business continuity. This role requires close collaboration with all manufacturing support functions, including Engineering, Production, and Quality Engineering.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of supply chain, procurement, OR material experience.
  • Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the EL Paso, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in any Supply Chain Area.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • MRP system knowledge (MAPICS AS400)
  • Engineering To Order (ETO) experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of all production and non-production items consumed within your area of responsibility to support both short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Hold overall responsibility for meeting customer requirements, overseeing production control, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining optimal finished goods inventory levels and reorder points.
  • Provide Value Stream Mapping (VSM) support for the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to help ensure business continuity.
  • Close collaboration with all manufacturing support functions, including Engineering, Production, and Quality Engineering.
  • Scheduling assembly and fabrication parts
  • Managing order schedules and related tasks
  • Leading and presenting action plans to improve key performance metrics
  • Reviewing incoming demand with Value Stream Managers to align with business needs
  • Manage product line assigned purchasing performance, including quality, cost and on-time delivery performance of suppliers.
  • Understand the MRP/ERP functions and rules and continuously drives for improvements in the system (usage, accuracy, compliance, etc.) and integration into the manufacturing process, including the implementation of ERP Rules.
  • Manage and review inputs (SIOP, cycle counting, physical inventory, profit planning) and controls (min. Imax. levels, lead times, etc.) of the ordering process to ensure that inventory levels (purchase parts, WIP, finished goods, consignment, in-transit etc.) to meet Plant, Division and Corporate expectations.
  • Have full control of the production plan in every production line to satisfy customer requested dates.
  • Provide input, support, and guidance regarding the Sales, Inventory, Operating and Planning (SIOP) process and uses the process to drive improvements into the Materials Planning / Scheduling function to ensure adequate resources are identified, financial goals met, and customers are satisfied.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities by reviewing supplier capabilities, material options, and processing requirements in order to meet and/or exceed the cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
