About The Position

The Material Planner is responsible for the procurement, pull, flow, expediting of material and identification and resolution of materials issues and shortages within the plant consistent with operating objectives. This role works with buyers, coordinators, supply chain technicians, production, and suppliers to assure the effective operation of the materials process and system.

Requirements

  • At minimum an Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an industrialized or manufacturing environment.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood, SC facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficient knowledge of Eaton systems (Powerlink & AS400): Inventory Transactions, and familiarity with purchase orders; Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a plus.

  • Product knowledge of components used in the Greenwood facility.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Execute end-to-end material planning and procurement using ERP systems (Powerlink, AS400), ensuring material availability to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Manage purchase orders and supplier performance, including expediting critical materials via email, phone, and supplier portals (Vista) to mitigate delays and improve on-time delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, and Engineering to drive collaboration and operational success.
  • Proactively manage material availability by leveraging MRP tools to monitor and address (PO past dues, PO critical overdue, PO no promise dates, PO review).
  • Identify and address potential material shortages before they impact production or customer delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement opportunities, contributing to process enhancements, inventory optimization, and improved planning accuracy.
