Material Planner, SIOP
About The Position
The HVAC Aftermarket Team is seeking a skilled and experienced Sr Aftermarket Material Planner to join our HVAC Planning team. The Sr Aftermarket Material Planner is responsible for leading the internal supply planning team which focuses on both the material planning and procurement activities and works to ensure the seamless flow of materials to meet customer demand. This person must have a strong background in supply chain management, experience defining material planning and inventory strategies, the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively, and strong people leadership skills. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 8+ Years of Experience in material planning or supply chain management OR Associate’s Degree with 5+ Years of Experience in material planning or supply chain management OR Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ Years of experience in material planning or supply chain management
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree or MBA
- Certification in APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) or similar
- Strong experience with Power BI, Excell and Microsoft 365
- Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE
- Experience with international sourcing and procurement
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- English communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute material planning strategies for aftermarket modifications, retrofits, and upgrade programs—balancing cost, lead time, and availability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, program management, procurement, and production teams to translate technical upgrade requirements into actionable material plans.
- Forecast and manage long-lead and critical-path components to ensure on-time delivery for scheduled upgrade events.
- Optimize inventory levels for upgrade kits and modification packages, leveraging MRP/ERP systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with suppliers to secure capacity, negotiate delivery schedules, and mitigate supply risks for specialized or obsolete parts.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively adjust material plans to accommodate engineering changes, customer requests, or schedule shifts.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline aftermarket material flows, reduce excess inventory, and improve on-time delivery
