Material Planner (Electrical)

CrusoeArvada, CO
$95,000 - $115,000

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Material Planner, Electrical to ensure the production schedule is materially feasible for electrical components. This role involves working with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) to run MRP, maintain Clear-to-Build (CTB) status, manage shortages, and oversee supplier forecasts and commitments. Given the long lead times and concentrated supply base for electrical components, proactive management of lead times and anticipation of shortages are crucial for maintaining manufacturing timelines. This position acts as a key link between production planning, inventory management, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MRP logic and BOM structures, be skilled in data-driven scheduling, and perform well in high-accountability environments where early identification of constraints is vital. This is a Full-Time position.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of dedicated experience in material planning, supply planning, or MRP execution, ideally within industrial equipment, hardware manufacturing, or electrical commodities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Solid working knowledge of MRP logic, complex BOM structures, and ERP planning modules (e.g., Acumatica or similar enterprise systems).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating rolling forecasts and delivery commitments directly with suppliers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data manipulation to manage inventory feeds, shortage lists, and CTB reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS / ASCM certification, such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
  • Experience with long-lead electrical equipment, power distribution units, or high-power data center infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience using Acumatica ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Run MRP and BOM explosions for electrical components against the MPS, netting gross requirements against on-hand, on-order, and in-transit inventory.
  • Maintain and refresh CTB coverage status by SKU and work center, prioritizing long-lead, critical-path items like switchgear.
  • Identify potential material shortages in advance, escalating to Strategic Sourcing for expedite or dual-sourcing actions and tracking resolutions.
  • Share rolling forecasts with electrical suppliers, secure capacity and lead-time commitments, and feed supplier commits back into MRP within established contract frameworks.
  • Set and maintain item-level ERP planning parameters (order policy, lot sizing, lead times, safety stock, and planning time fences) at MBOM release.
  • Partner with Materials Management to reconcile ERP balances against physical stock, while maintaining ABC classification data to support category prioritization.
  • Represent the electrical material and CTB constraint view during monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reconciliations.
