About The Position

The material packer inspects for quality, keeps accurate counts and paperwork, and stacks the product into boxes on the skid. Performs assigned essential tasks to assist line operator in maintaining accurate counts, and to maintain a clean & safe work environment. Basic operations of the converting line are learned in this position.

Requirements

Must be able to read and understand Job description and work instructions.
Must complete and comprehend EverTec Material Packing Quality Assurance training program.
Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
Frequent standing, stooping, sitting.
Frequent lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling (up to 70 pounds).
Occasional typing/keyboarding.
Repetitive wrist motion.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Responsibilities

Inspects for quality, keeps accurate counts and paperwork, and stacks the product into boxes on the skid.
Performs assigned essential tasks to assist line operator in maintaining accurate counts, and to maintain a clean & safe work environment.
Learns basic operations of the converting line.
Completes and comprehends EverTec Material Packing Quality Assurance training program.
Effectively performs visual quality inspections as required by EverTec Quality Assurance program.
Understands and can implement Quality Assurance program required escalation process when non-conforming product has been identified.
Ensures product is packaged according to customer requirements, including correct boxes, correct amount in box, and correct label information.
Assures accuracy of good product counts and waste counts, maintains accurate and complete records as required.
Ensures efficient packing process as identified by supervision and management is adhered to as a Standard Operating Procedure.
Works all four stations of the Packer role: Pallet Stacker Station (assembling lids, quality checks, removing boxes, stacking on pallet), Box Making Station (constructing boxes, housekeeping), Mailer Packer Station (packing mailers into boxes, quality checks), and Utility Packer Station (assisting other roles, quality checks, containment, monitoring time stamp, housekeeping).
Performs rework and non-standard work assignments after proper training, including reworking material out of customer specification.
Assists line operators in wash ups, makereadies, and startups as required.
Performs general cleaning of area workspaces and floors.
Follows all required safety procedures.
Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
Learns and adheres to safety rules and procedures.
Maintains attendance levels as outlined in the employee handbook.
Complies with all policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
Reads job instructions and follows all verbal and written instructions.
Works overtime as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Performs other responsibilities as directed or required.
