About The Position
The Material Master Data Specialist is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and governance of purchased material master data within SAP. This role ensures accuracy and integrity of the material master records to support procurement, planning, inventory management, and production operations. The position will work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to support business objectives across our US facilities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in material master data management, supply chain, purchasing, planning, or ERP administration.
- Strong SAP ECC 6.0 experience, particularly in Material Management (MM) and MRP functionality.
- Understanding of inventory planning concepts including safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and demand planning.
- Experience working with purchasing and supplier management processes.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across functional teams.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update material master records for purchased material in SAP.
- Coordinate new part setup activities, including data collection and validation from Engineering and Purchasing teams.
- Support MRP processes by ensuring material master data accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure material master data supports sourcing strategies, supplier changes, pricing updates, and procurement requirements.
- Execute approved changes to planning and procurement-related master data to ensure accurate MRP results and inventory planning.
- Perform regular audits of material master records and correct discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- Assist with ERP enhancements, testing, data conversions, and system improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for material master data and provide support to internal stakeholders.
