About The Position

The Material Master Data Analyst serves as the gatekeeper of the Material Master (Item Master) within SAP and associated systems for our company's Animal Health. This role is responsible for the creation, maintenance, governance, and accuracy of master data for all purchased and manufactured materials. The Material Master Data Analyst ensures data integrity across global systems (SAP, PMA, MDG/Feather, Aera) and collaborates extensively with Production, Quality, Planning, Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams. The role is critical to enabling accurate production costing, inventory management, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Proficiency with SAP (specifically Material Master, PP, MM, QM modules).
  • Three (3)+ years of experience in master data governance, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills (Aera or similar tools preferred).
  • Strong understanding of: BOMs, recipes, and production processes, Inventory management and costing.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and coordinate materials using MDG/Feather, ensuring global alignment of part numbers.
  • Generate and manage Unique Identification Numbers (UINs) including: Purchase UINs, Finished Product Units (FPU) and lower-level materials, Maintenance UINs across multiple sites.
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), Recipes, and Production Versions to ensure accurate manufacturing and costing structures.
  • Support consolidation and standardization of materials globally.
  • Run and analyze reports using Aera to ensure data accuracy and integrity: Weekly batch checks, Phase-out reporting.
  • Coordinate lifecycle management of materials (new, extended, obsolete) across sites and globally.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation reporting for Destruction Records and Cycle Counts.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Provide cost analysis for materials listed on Destruction Records (DRs) prior to approval.
  • Process and validate DRs, ensuring accurate inventory removal in SAP.
  • Lead cycle count analysis and reconciliation for all U.S. sites (including audit support).
  • Partner with Finance to ensure inventory accuracy and full site coverage throughout the year.
  • Process various SAP inventory transactions (MIGO), including: Material-to-material / batch transfers, Miscellaneous issues and receipts.
  • Manage COID (Process Order Lifecycle) transitions monthly: CNF → TECO → Closed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP production issues, including: Production orders, Deliveries, Missing QM data.
  • Provide continuous operational support and error resolution across all U.S. sites.
  • Serve as SAP subject matter expert supporting: Production, Quality Management (QM), Procurement, Planning, Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams.
  • Train employees on SAP processes, workflows, and best practices.
  • Assign SAP roles and ensure proper system access.
  • Support investigations and compliance/reliance activities.
  • Maintain variant configuration (Genes and Antigens) US Site.
  • Create new labs and recipe resources in SAP.
  • Assign batch IDs and support rework BOM/Recipe creation.
  • Participate in regular operational and supervisor meetings.
