About The Position

The Transmission Construction Material Management Analyst serves in a key role providing expertise in a broad range of responsibilities in the management of equipment, including forecasting, ordering, tracking, prioritizing, delivery coordination, and project closeout. This position assures that materials arrive on time to support the annual Transmission Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) plan and that risk is mitigated through process management and supplier diversity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain or material management related experience is required.
  • General Construction knowledge.
  • General Business knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of Transmission Engineering and Supply Chain processes.
  • History of process improvement initiatives.
  • History of serving as material process subject matter expert.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Advanced software capabilities, including Microsoft Office, PETE, Maximo, Cognos, FIM, Velocity.
  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast material needs across multiple years of Transmission CAPEX portfolios by working with Transmission Engineers, Supply Chain, Transmission Project Management Office (PMO), Transmission Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with material suppliers through multiple mediums (phone, email, conference calls, factory visits) to review forecasts, open orders, production sequence prioritizations, and delivery dates to meet project deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers, Coordinators, Field Construction Coordinators (FCC), and Contractors on project material kitting, deliveries, and returns.
  • Support Transmission Construction with the delivery of material through coordination with suppliers and Oncor Supply Chain.
  • Transfer material, in accounting systems, between Transmission projects to ensure appropriate charging of costs to projects.
  • Develop and maintain a process for monitoring system Transmission inventory and order levels and coordinating with stakeholders to make adjustments to meeting Transmission portfolio objectives.
  • Provide training and support to other Transmission team members.
  • Develop and publish inventory and open order reports to support Transmission material needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Oncor Program, Maintenance and Construction activity in support of Transmission Construction.
  • Maintain knowledge of various materials, manufacturers, product description and application.
  • Actively support and promote Oncor’s supplier diversity program.
  • Participate in planning, forecasting, and analysis of Transmission material requirement.
  • Participate in the development of long-range strategies.
  • Develop and coordinate short-term projections.
  • Lead Ad-hoc material requirement committees and peer group studies.
  • Develop, summarize, and communicate key findings to Transmission management.
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment to Transmission management’s performance expectations.
  • Develop and execute cost saving initiatives.
  • Maintain professional and effective relationship with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, recommendations, and field support for Oncor construction and maintenance activities.
  • Incorporate safety into daily work ethic.
