Requirements

  • High School diploma with at least two (2) years’ experience working in a warehouse environment and an additional two (2) years in a leadership capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Forklift Truck license required
  • Supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and supervise others
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases, and a knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
  • Good planning skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Record Check and Drug Screening Required
  • This position is identified as a Safety Sensitive Position

Responsibilities

  • Assist in running an efficient warehouse and materials prep team that can fully support operational and customer demand to meet set targets
  • Ensure delivery of materials to the production line, including the staging of materials into the production line for consumption
  • Ensure inventories are accurate and that stock movements are recorded accurately including the accounting for scrap accumulated from production
  • Resolve issues and remove barriers which occur within the Materials Handling Team
  • Support and coordinate team activities to eliminate any material shortages on the line caused by staging issues
  • Manage team attendance for operatives within the area of responsibility and support the Material Control Manager and other site leaders
  • Produce regular reports and track KPI’s, working to resolve issues which impact team performance to targets
  • Train new Material Handling employees and retrain existing team members as required
  • Actively communicate with team members on a regular basis, making team aware of priorities, targets and operational needs for both warehouse and production areas
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS requirements, including proper PIT operation and material handling tasks. Conduct audits as needed to identify improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Material Control Manager or delegate.
