About The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing essential job functions related to material handling. This includes maintaining material levels in drying bins, cleaning hoppers, blending materials to specifications, and ensuring proper labeling and separation of materials. The role also involves operating a D40 forklift, coordinating material changes, inputting process information into the material handling system computer, and connecting drying bins to injection molding machines. Additionally, the operator will load trailers, perform preventative maintenance with hand tools, prepare materials for sampling, transport materials to shipping, and adhere to all safety guidelines to prevent injuries.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Undergo a post-offer screening for pre-existing medical conditions or injuries.
  • Meet WorkKeys minimum score requirement: 4 – Applied Math, 3 – Workplace Documents, 4 – Graphic Literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Keep material in drying bins at all times.
  • Clean out material hoppers and change material as needed.
  • Blend material to required specifications.
  • Keep materials labeled and separated.
  • Keep grinders labeled and clean. Empty as needed.
  • Keep dryer and loader filters clean.
  • Move parts from machines to scales to be weighed then move them to a skid for transportation to the stock room.
  • Keep tote pans and other material needed by operators at machine.
  • Take out trash as needed.
  • Keep Dept. 40 and the 50x50 building clean.
  • Work closely with material handlers and machine operators.
  • Other general duties as required.
  • Operate D40 forklift.
  • Work with Set-up Men / Plastics Technicians to coordinate material changes as needed.
  • Obtain material process information from PIB, and load necessary information into the material handling system computer.
  • Connect correct drying bins to appropriate Injection Molding Machines.
  • Load trailers as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance using basic hand tools.
  • Prepares materials to be sampled for technician.
  • Gathers and transports materials to shipping.
  • Works safely to prevent injuries and follows all safety guidelines.
