About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Material Handling Supervisor to lead our material handling team and ensure efficient flow of materials throughout our facility. This role oversees daily receiving, inventory movement, and distribution activities, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive leader with a background in warehouse operations or manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
  • 3+ years of material handling or warehouse experience, with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Proficient in inventory systems, receiving documentation, and material flow processes.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA standards.
  • Good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of material handlers to ensure timely and accurate receiving, staging, and delivery of materials.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper use of inventory management systems and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Schedule and assign work based on operational needs and staffing levels.
  • Train, coach, and support team members in proper material handling procedures and safety practices.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and assist with inventory reconciliation efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized material storage area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Monitor equipment use and ensure proper maintenance and inspection protocols are followed.
  • Communicate performance expectations, provide feedback, and assist in performance evaluations.
