About The Position

We are looking for a Material Handling Specialist to join our growing team in Shoreview! The Material Handling Specialist is responsible for the accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the facility. This role also provides cross-functional support to panel build operations, assisting with assembly, staging, and basic electrical/mechanical tasks as needed to meet production demands. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and adaptable to both logistics and light production work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (or willingness to be trained)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read work orders, pick lists, and basic documentation
  • Basic computer skills (ERP or inventory systems preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical panel building or industrial assembly
  • Familiarity with electrical components and tools
  • Ability to read electrical schematics or layout drawings
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S principles

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Accurately store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas based on work orders or schedules
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system updates
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas (5S standards)
  • Assist panel builders with component staging, kitting, and preparation
  • Support mechanical assembly of panels, enclosures, or subassemblies
  • Assist with mounting components such as DIN rail, terminal blocks, wireways, and devices
  • Perform basic wiring tasks under supervision (e.g., labeling, routing, terminations where qualified)
  • Read and follow basic schematics, layouts, and work instructions
  • Help with quality checks, ensuring builds meet company standards
  • Coordinate material flow between warehouse and production to avoid shortages or delays
  • Identify and escalate material discrepancies or quality concerns
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory flow and efficiency
  • Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and production teams as needed
