About The Position

Position is responsible for the handling of all materials from the inbound side up to the stamping press operations. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment as required to fulfill duties. This includes loading/unloading master coils or other materials from rail cars and/or trucks, loading/unloading slit ribbon material on production line decoilers, and correctly feeding slit ribbon material into the stamping dies. The role also involves performing first piece inspection, routine quality control functions on materials (i.e. thickness, gauge, width, and coating measurements), and monitoring production equipment coolant and oil levels. Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift, including the ability to work overtime as required, is essential.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate large forklifts or overhead cranes (with proper training) to load/unload master coils or other materials from rail cars and /or trucks.
• Load/unload slit ribbon material on production line decoilers as defined by the steel loading process.
• Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
• Perform routine quality control functions on materials (i.e. thickness, gauge, width, and coating measurements).
• Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly.
• Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.
• Work overtime as required.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Report all injuries/accidents near misses immediately to supervisor or a member of management.
• Report all unsafe acts and conditions.
• Use equipment and materials properly.
