About The Position
This position is for a Material Handling Shipping Lead opening. The Lead will oversee the shipping area and keep overall productivity moving. The Lead will help train new hires, bid trainees, and cross-train. The Lead will assist in case of absenteeism and fill in for personal breaks and emergencies. The Lead provides guidance when the supervisor is not present and communicates effectively in all aspects (verbal, written, and reading). This includes giving verbal feedback to supervisors, other departments, and co-workers, and compiling paperwork at the end of the day according to the daily schedule. Bilingual skills are a plus.
Requirements
- Knowledge to perform at least two jobs in the department.
- Dependable, works well with others, self-motivated.
- Willing to come in early and stay late when necessary.
- Less than 5 attendance points at the time of posting.
- Good safety record (NO Safety suspensions) within the last 12 months.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, lift, pull, and reach.
- Ability to work in a cold environment and on slippery surfaces.
