About The Position

As a Material Handling/Robotics Technician, you will be the technical expert ensuring seamless operations of sophisticated robotic and automated material handling systems in a dynamic warehouse environment. This critical role combines electrical, mechanical, and robotic expertise to maintain cutting-edge automation technology that drives JLL's operational excellence. You will troubleshoot complex integrated systems, perform preventative maintenance on robotic cells and conveyor equipment, and ensure continuous operations through proactive problem-solving. Your technical acumen and attention to detail will directly contribute to minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and maintaining the safety standards that define JLL's commitment to operational excellence. Day-to-day, you will complete preventative and predictive maintenance routines on robotic systems, automated conveyors, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with comprehensive documentation in CMMS systems. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, PLCs, and robotic controls using technical schematics and programming documentation. You will also maintain and troubleshoot robotic cells, conveyance systems, and automated storage/retrieval equipment to ensure optimal system performance, read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, PLC programs, and robotic documentation to diagnose and resolve complex system integration issues. Additionally, you will support cross-functional collaboration, track maintenance inventory, manage department supplies, and promote/enforce safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and automation principles
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documentation, electrical schematics, and automation blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex integrated systems combining mechanical, electrical, and software components
  • Physical capability to lift up to 49 pounds, work 12-hour shifts with extended standing and walking, and perform repetitive movements with manual dexterity for precision tasks
  • Understanding of safety protocols and procedures for working with automated equipment and robotic systems
  • Excellent attention to detail for maintenance documentation and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Technology, or related technical field
  • Technical certifications in robotics, automation, industrial maintenance, or PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor systems, robotic controls, and industrial automation equipment
  • Experience with AutoStore ASRS or similar automated storage and retrieval systems
  • Knowledge of industrial robotics programming and maintenance, along with CMMS systems and computerized maintenance management
  • Experience with PLC systems, industrial automation networks, predictive maintenance technologies, and condition monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of lean maintenance practices, reliability-centered maintenance methodologies, and project management experience supporting automation initiatives

Responsibilities
