About The Position

As a Material Handling Equipment Technician at JLL, you will be the technical expert ensuring the seamless operation of automated systems and equipment that power our client's distribution and logistics operations. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated conveyor systems, robotic equipment, and mechanical components that are critical to daily operations. This hands-on role combines electrical and mechanical expertise with preventative maintenance practices to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Your technical skills and proactive approach will directly contribute to minimizing downtime, ensuring workplace safety, and supporting the continuous flow of materials that drives our client's business success. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, shifts, and areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Physical capability to move up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during 12-hour shifts, and perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and twisting motions
  • Demonstrated ability to work in challenging conditions including small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, and wet or uneven surfaces
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields
  • 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems, controls, and repair of material handling equipment
  • 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • 1+ year of metal and wood fabrication experience along with blueprint and electrical schematic reading capabilities
  • 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and project management
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance, including AutoStore ASRS knowledge
  • Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and industry safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance routines on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with proper documentation and tracking
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to conveyor systems, belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and automated equipment
  • Maintain AutoStore ASRS systems and troubleshoot basic input and output functions on robotic and electromechanical operations
  • Track and store department inventory, ensuring proper management of parts, tools, and supplies
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and Material Handling Equipment safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines
  • Maintain positive working relationships across all Operations facility teams and support cross-functional collaboration
  • Perform metal and wood fabrication tasks and read blueprints and electrical schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
