About The Position

a2b Fulfillment is a fast-growing, third-party provider of distribution support services, including Order Fulfillment, Contact Center Solutions, and a vast array of Value-Added services. We are currently recruiting for the position of Material Handling Lead for our Hanover Township, PA location. The Material Handling Lead reports to the Supervisor and Manager in a supporting role for the Material Handling team. Responsibilities consist of relaying information to their teams from management and ensuring follow through. The Material Handling Lead oversees each shift and monitors work activities. This position is expected to work on the floor with their teams and engage in duties related to offloading incoming shipments, loading outgoing shipments, putting away inventory and replenishing inventory, and keeping track of these tasks in a system. All candidates must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Requirements

  • Leadership skills
  • Forklift Operator experience: 1 year (Required)
  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
  • Comply effectively with company work and safety rules.
  • Continually meet assigned production standards.
  • Trained and certified to operate any required equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Able to stand, sit, kneel, bend for extended amount of time
  • Work at a quick pace
  • Must have ability to lift or move at least 40lbs
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
  • Comply with company attendance policies
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Work Authorization: United States (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Standup Forklift experience (Preferred)
  • Receiving experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist manager/supervisor in ensuring daily tasks are completed
  • Communicate needs and issues that arise in the department to management in a timely manner
  • Complete reports as needed
  • Identify gaps in production and fill in where and when needed by monitoring personnel and resources
  • Leads by example by working hard and having positive interactions with other departments
  • Communicates and upholds department policies and procedures to their team
  • Conduct training and coaching activities for the department
  • Perform quality checks and audits
  • Provides input to supervisors for performance evaluations
  • Involvement in event planning and employee engagement for department
  • Supports other departments as needed
  • Responsible for opening and closing the facility as directed by management
  • Conducts safety walks of the facility as directed
  • Retrieve and transport product to assigned slots in pallet racking using forklifts
  • Identify product to be selected, sorted and placed
  • Follow aisle specifications for product sorting and placement
  • Properly enter assigned product for each shift into the system
  • Maintain a quality of work that limits mispicks, shorts and damages
  • Ensure that aisles and racks are clean and organized, and that all empty pallets are in designated areas
  • Other duties as assigned
