About The Position

As part of the shipping and receiving team, the Material Coordinator / Handler is ultimately responsible for properly receiving, shipping, and recording the movement of materials and products in and out of the Golden location. Package and load products for shipping, materials going to outside vendors, receiving material arriving from suppliers, identify and properly label incoming/outgoing material, and transferring raw material to & from the production floor. Accuracy with the physical movement of material and the movement of that material in our ERP are paramount. Also supports the inventory team with organization of material, cycle counts, etc. Adjust work schedule as necessary to meet special sales order requirements. Individuals need to be physically capable, be detailed orientated and accurate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Shipping & receiving experience
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Inventory and cycle counts
  • Wood working – ability to build/assemble crates and pallets by hand
  • Material handling and staging of product
  • Good computer skills to learn shipping systems including MS Office, prefer ERP knowledge
  • Must be detail oriented and good with numbers.
  • Individuals need to be physically capable, be detailed orientated and accurate.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving raw material; perform incoming inspections, confirm against receiving paperwork, properly label all material, and put-away in the proper inventory location.
  • Shipping finished goods; confirm packing list parts are present, construct crates and dunnage racks to hold productions, load products on many different styles of trucks and shipping containers.
  • Record all material or product movements in the ERP by following written instructions.
  • Supports the inventory team by maintaining proper storage and labeling of material, participating in counts and material audits.
  • Receives purchased orders and verify accuracy.
  • Performs shipping procedures that involve making phone calls, using computers, paperwork, and filing.
  • Build wood crates and skids.
  • Selects and kits fasteners, parts, and other materials needed for shipping.
  • Loads and unloads items from machines, carts, and dollies by hand.
  • Works at heights above 4ft.
  • Performs required tasks while on a step ladder, ladder, rolling ladder, or scissor lift.
  • Loads and unloads trucks with the use of a variety of forklifts.
  • Operates overhead cranes, jib boom cranes, and other rigging equipment.
  • Follows proper spotting procedures when assisting other forklift operators.
  • Reports jobs status into workflow management software.
  • Cleans and organizes work and storage areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Sweep, mop, and remove debris.
  • Execute tasks while prioritizing safety and quality.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for oneself and others in the workplace.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects.
