About The Position

For over 50 years, BETA Fueling Systems in Reidsville, NC has led the aviation industry in the manufacture of reliable and safe refueling equipment. From refuelers and hydrant carts to modules and parts, everything we do is focused on improving the reliability, after sales support, and on-time delivery of equipment. The Material Handler will primarily move BETA products, parts, and materials throughout the facility and will stock and maintain kitting and production supplies for our Fabrication and Assembly teams. The Material Handler will also participate in shipping and receiving functions and perform other general labor as needed. Our Material Handlers work in a team environment. Summer work hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:00am-3:30pm, Friday hours are 6:00am - 10:00am with occasional overtime until 12:00noon on Fridays. The summer schedule will end on September 4th.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous forklift and pallet jack experience with bulk or specialty items preferred
  • Proven safety experience on forklift in busy manufacturing environment
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in inventory management
  • 1-2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, inventory and shipping software experience helpful
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
  • using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools
  • ability to read written instructions
  • lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift and pallet jack experience with bulk or specialty items
  • inventory and shipping software experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment
  • Prepare and package goods for shipment, kitting, or storage including building crates and pallets with hand and power tools, utilizing wrapping materials
  • Move large equipment including driving refueling equipment to load shipping trucks and trailers
  • Deliver kitting scheduled parts to Fabrication and Assembly teams
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information, including hazardous materials identification
  • Sort and identify manufacturing materials and products – aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel
  • Maintain inventory accuracy including cycle counts
  • Assist shipping and receiving as needed
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness and safety of parts and inventory areas
  • Will be working outside and in non-temperature controlled, loud manufacturing environment
  • Other duties as assigned
