About The Position

As a Material Handler, you are responsible for moving materials/scrap around the facility, as well as updating all necessary logs and putting material in the proper holding/staging area. This role involves operating various powered industrial trucks, filling out appropriate paperwork, and coordinating scrap/trash removal and maintenance at various work centers. The Material Handler will also set up and operate the baler machine, gather and segregate recyclable materials, and manage the daily operation within the Walsworth Recycling Center. Additionally, they will provide scrap and waste receptacles throughout the facility and clear lines of outgoing materials as directed by the shift lead. The ability to read, follow, and perform work instructions is essential.

Requirements

High School Diploma.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
Must have good organizational skills.
Previous experience working with Power Industrial equipment.
Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
May require specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Operates various lift trucks and materials management equipment, placing materials in or out of racking or other confined spaces and near pedestrians and/or near operating machinery.
