About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for operating and maintaining a forklift truck to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role involves rigging, re-spooling, and delivering materials within the yard. The Material Handler will also manage inventory, load and off-load trucks, train new hires, and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Experience operating and maintaining a forklift truck
• Ability to perform rigging tasks
• Knowledge of material handling procedures
• Ability to maintain and organize inventory
• Ability to load and off-load trucks
• Attention to detail for confirming truck contents
• Willingness to train new hires

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain forklift truck to ensure a safe and efficient operation
• Rigger (using hand signals, run chain through the spools, tie chains to the shackles, follow and guide crane and forklift operators)
• Run re-spool
• Delivery of proper material around yard as directed via procedures or supervisor
• Maintain and organize raw and finished goods inventory in yard
• Load and off-load trucks
• Confirm truck contents match COE requirements and record on outgoing truck inspection record
• Train new hires
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
