About The Position

The Material Handler (Forklift Operator) reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of various types of industrial power equipment. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, order filling/picking, material handling/stocking, production supply, checking duties, and project work. The Material Handler will maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, and on a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift. All equipment must be operated in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Forklift Operators are cross-trained for coating/Corn syrup receiving and PO receiving (raw material).

Requirements

1+ years of experience with sit down, stand up, and reach truck
Experience with excel / word
Organizational skills
Leadership
Multi-tasking
High School diploma / GED
Standing on a concrete floor.
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required to work weekends.
Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

Daily Redzone Food Safety and GMP’s Audits
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
Keep appropriate records and reports to ensure accuracy of bin location as well as quantity of inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Support Production with request on the production floor (movements of pallets).
Perform cycle counts, validate inventory, audit paperwork, and AX transactions.
Complete additional tasks assigned by Supervision/Lead.
