About The Position

This is a contract position for a Material Handler in El Paso, TX, with a duration of 12 months. The role involves working on moderately complex assignments requiring judgment in the location and storage of items, proper packaging, material movement, and release of materials. The position requires the ability to work independently and may involve preparing goods for shipment, keeping accurate logs, and understanding receiving and/or distribution functions. Responsibilities may include conducting cycle counts and ensuring accurate inventories. The role also emphasizes effective teamwork and decision-making relative to position requirements, including comparing physical inventory with records.

Requirements

High school diploma / GED required.
Sit down and stand-up Forklift experience.
Must be able to pay continuous attention to detailed operations.

Nice To Haves

Operator license preferred.
Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills preferred.
Ability to safely operate all required preferred.

Responsibilities

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Uses judgment requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, methods of movement of materials, and release of materials.
Ability to work independently as required.
May prepare goods for final shipment (domestic and international).
Keeps accurate logs (both written and on computer).
Is knowledgeable of receiving and/or distribution function.
May be responsible for conducting cycle counts to maintain accurate inventories.
Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives.
Make effective decisions relative to position requirements.
Compare physical inventory with inventory records to ensure the numbers match.
