About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring all machines are set up with the necessary materials, polybags, boxes, screws, etc., and for removing components from previous jobs. This role requires adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The position involves communication with the previous shift, receiving direction from foremen, and managing material flow to support production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate with previous shift personnel and foremen.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to use IQMS and/or Work Orders.
  • Ability to operate a scanner.
  • Ability to mix resins and colorants.
  • Ability to dry resins.
  • Ability to use a vacuum cleaner for cleaning.

Nice To Haves

  • LMT will train to operate a Forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the previous shift material handler to understand ongoing tasks.
  • Coordinate with foremen at the start of the shift to determine priorities.
  • Ensure all machines are stocked with the correct materials, blends, and colorants, and prevent stockouts.
  • Move finished goods from machines after scanning.
  • Stock machines with Work-In-Progress (WIP) components and packaging materials.
  • Stock machines with materials, screws, boxes, etc.
  • Supply each machine with an empty, clean Gaylord for scrap parts and runners, following LMT internal procedures.
  • Return all components to their original location using proper scanning procedures when a job is complete.
  • Utilize IQMS and/or the Work Order to identify machine component needs.
  • Wrap skids before placing them in the warehouse.
  • Be responsible for the use of regrind on all applicable jobs.
  • Return material to the proper location using a scanner.
  • Place old, unusable skids neatly in the designated location.
  • Use the provided vacuum cleaner when cleaning hoppers or any material container.
  • Mix resins and colorants according to manufacturing recommendations.
  • Be responsible for drying resins according to manufacturing recommendations.
  • Keep all machines and auxiliary equipment free from spilled materials.
  • Function as a backup to the mold setter.
