About The Position

As a Material Handler, you are the driving force behind the scenes, safely operating forklifts and straddle lifts to move large materials and ensure smooth operations. You will navigate the floor with purpose, keeping the production line stocked, the team moving, and the trucks rolling. Requirements

  • Comfortable using computers
  • Forklift experience is a must
  • Safely operate forklifts and straddle lifts throughout the facility, always following top safety standards
  • Strictly adhere to all truck and trailer protocols across the company
  • Confidently read and apply measurements with a tape measure
  • Read and interpret work orders and instructions with ease
  • Ability to learn quickly and master the JDE system
  • Handle important tasks like roof coil and door rack change-outs with confidence and care
  • Expertly manage all products from customer units and flat-bed carry-outs to FRPs and hazardous materials
  • Commitment to quality with a zero-defect mindset, ensuring every unit meets high standards
  • Flexibility to work the schedule, including overtime when needed
  • Ability to thrive working independently with minimal supervision while staying accountable
  • Actively participate in Poindexter Production System initiatives like 5S, Lean, TPM, and more

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight while ensuring everything checks in accurately
  • Log item numbers for unidentified materials to keep inventory on point
  • Leverage JDE to track inventory moves and keep daily operations running smoothly
  • Maintain a well-organized, hazard-free warehouse environment
  • Count, sort, and organize parts so everything is where it needs to be
  • Load and unload trucks as needed to keep production moving
  • Follow written orders, specs, and labels, including hazardous material warnings
  • Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliation
  • Help train and guide new team members on the floor
  • Manage hazardous waste in line with regulations and company procedures
  • Follow company safety policies and help build a safety-first culture by supporting training for new team members
