About The Position

The D.S. Brown Company, a Gibraltar Industries Company, is a world-wide leader and supplier of engineered products to the bridge and highway industry. This position moves material to areas of the plant using a forklift or combilift. Materials could be 20' to 40' long and weigh up to 15,000 lbs. The material handler also moves farm wagon style trailers and needs to be able to back them up.

Requirements

Forklift certified
Experience operating a combilift
Knowledgeable in Excel
Familiarity utilizing Outlook

Nice To Haves

Experience utilizing Oracle preferred

Responsibilities

Able to load and unload semi-trailers and flatbeds with most loads
Able to run forklift and combilift in a safe manner
Able to run crane to assist in loading or unloading material as needed
Able to stage material to keep multiple areas productive
Able to organize and track parts placement and storage in racks or staging areas
Able to use traveler to keep product moving to next step
Able to fill in for other material handlers or shipping personnel
Keep shop and yard clean and orderly
Assist with yearly inventory
Inform supervisor of any needed materials
Skid/Band steel rails and bridge joints for shipment
Label skids for shipment with job #, weight and skid number
Pull rail for saw, correct shape and grade
Return unused rail to correct pile
Verify quantity issued matches quantity used
Perform safety checks on forklifts
Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
Reports defective material and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately
