About The Position

Responsible for the safe operation of a Combilift forklift to move raw materials from trailers into and around the warehouse, cycle counting and system transactions. This role involves following established safety policies and procedures, accurately entering material transactions in Syspro, conducting daily cycle counts, and reading/understanding production orders related to materials. The Material Handler will become proficient in recognizing materials, unloading shipments, moving materials within the warehouse, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. They will also be responsible for scrap bins and bailers, collaborating with other departments for stocking and replenishment, and performing daily pre-operation checks of the forklift. Additionally, this role requires distinguishing and reporting defective material, frequent mounting and dismounting of the forklift, charging batteries or refueling the forklift, and maintaining a flexible schedule with potential overtime and working the annual physical inventory.

Requirements

  • Must be able to efficiently move incoming and outgoing goods without damage to meet production schedules.
  • Must be detailed and accurate in cycle counting and system transactions.
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification (Training provided)
  • Must have completed all company safety training

Responsibilities

  • Follow established company safety policy & procedures.
  • Accurately enter material transactions in Syspro
  • Conduct daily cycle counts
  • Read and understand production orders as it relates to materials
  • Become proficient in recognizing materials by sight and/or product labeling
  • Unload incoming material shipments and reconcile to paperwork
  • Move materials around the warehouse as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Responsible for scrap bins and bailer
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure proper stocking levels and replenishment
  • Perform daily pre-operation checks of the forklift.
  • Distinguish and report defective material.
  • Able to mount and dismount the forklift on a frequent basis.
  • Charge battery and/or refuel the forklift as needed.
  • Have a flexible schedule when it comes to start and end times.
  • Working the annual Physical Inventory is required
  • Working overtime as necessary
  • May be required to work or assist in other areas throughout the facility.
