About The Position

This role involves managing MRO supplies, long-lead stockroom inventory, outside services, and capital expenditures. The Material Handler will review and place orders for raw material and stockroom inventory using MRP and Min Exception reports, ensuring timely delivery. Responsibilities include expediting orders, estimating market prices, determining procurement methods, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining procurement records. The role also involves performing purchasing and inventory control functions, including work order kitting, material transactions, physical inventory, and shipping/receiving as needed. Maintaining inventory integrity, organization, and cleanliness of the stockroom is crucial. The position requires excellent communication skills to interface with various departments, proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software, and experience with MAS500 is a plus. The job involves frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, using a forklift, and potentially operating overhead gantry and loader equipment. The role requires balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional ladder climbing.

Requirements

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with various departments within the organization
Must be proficient in MS Excel and accounting software
Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50lbs
Uses forklift to move materials
Must be capable of handling stock with care
Frequently required to balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch
Occasionally climbs ladder

Expedites orders and requests as needed
Estimates values according to knowledge of market price
Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid
Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
May approve invoices for payment
May expedite delivery of goods to users
Perform Purchasing and Inventory Control related functions
Work order kitting
Material transactions
Physical inventory
Shipping and receiving as required
Maintain the inventory integrity, organization and cleanliness of stockroom
