About The Position

As a Material Handler, you will work on the manufacturing floor to assist in the production and assembly of equipment. You will be in close communication with various departments within the organization and will help coordinate the efficient flow of materials and finished goods into and out of the production process.

Requirements

  • Effective organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
  • Physical requirements include; driving (80-90%), standing, and climbing
  • Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside
  • Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs)
  • Important skills include communication, problem-solving, and organization
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pump carts, and walkies

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systems is an asset
  • Prior experience in warehousing or logistics an asset

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining the flow of production
  • Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment (Forklift, Walkie), and report any minor or major damage to the equipment
  • Organize and maintain 5S in storage areas within the plant and outside
  • Follow written directions; interpret schedules, shipping documents and drawings
  • Communicate with project managers and supervisors to understand production schedules
  • May perform other activities, such as unloading crates, opening containers and crates from outside vendors, and weighing and checking materials
