About The Position

Transports wheel weights from fabrication to racks based on the production schedule, operates the tumbler for zinc weights, and enters all information into SAP. This role involves various material handling tasks in a manufacturing environment, including operating forklifts and pallet jacks, performing quality checks, and maintaining inventory systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Capable of lifting up to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, push, and pull frequently throughout the defined shift.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain part numbers for identification purposes.
  • Ability to operate a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
  • Moderate decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capable of working alone.
  • Able to effectively verbally communicate with team members.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and operate equipment.
  • Must wear ear plugs and safety glasses with permanent side shields, steel toe shoes, and gloves.

Responsibilities

  • Transport wheel weights from fabrication to racks based on the production schedule.
  • Operate the tumbler for zinc weights.
  • Enter all information into SAP.
  • Remove pans/bins from casting machines and place them in correct bins.
  • Visually check weights for defects or contamination.
  • Tape skids of pans to prevent them from falling.
  • Transport skids/bins to scale and perform a scale receipt.
  • Remove plastic bins from the wheel weight department into the staging area.
  • Perform a put away on the RF scan gun to enter material into the SAP system.
  • Create Planned Handling Units based on the schedule in SAP.
  • Perform quality checks and enter information into WINSPC (lead area only).
  • Operate sit-down & stand-up forklifts.
  • Operate a pallet jack.
  • Perform safety inspections on forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain 5S to company standards.
  • Maintain stocking tickets/handling units on every skid or bin for identification.
  • Load lead sows into the lead loader system.
  • Handle (move) lead and zinc bundles using forklifts and carts.
  • Tumble zinc weights using a tumbler machine.
  • Perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Operate water tumbler system, including tumbling weights, mixing chemicals, changing filters, and disposing of waste.
  • Troubleshoot the Tumbler system.
  • Train new associates.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.
